RADICAL CHANGE, RADICAL CELEBRATION

Matthew 9:10 by Dr. Herb Rhedrick, Senior Pastor
Series:On mission, on purpose

MATTHEW 9:10-13 10  While Jesus was having dinner at Matthew’s house, many tax collectors and sinners came and ate with him and his disciples. 11  When the Pharisees saw this, they asked his disciples, “Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?” 12  On hearing this, Jesus said, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. 13  But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice.’  v For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.” I. The purpose of the radical celebration. LIFE ADVICE: A radical change should lead to a radical celebration. II. The people at the radical celebration. LIFE ADVICE: We are to be in the world, not of the world. III. The protest at the radical celebration. LIFE ADVICE: We’re to look beyond one’s fault and see their needs. BOTTOM LINE: Jesus does not want our rituals; He wants our hearts. NEXT STEP: This week, don’t be a fault-finder but a faith-builder.
